Börsenlexikon: US-GAAP

US GAAP (United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) are generally accepted accounting principles of the United States) s and generally accepted accounting practices. A stock exchange is an organized market for negotiable instruments according to certain rules. For example, securities (e.g. shares, bonds, debentures, convertible bonds, notes, structured products), foreign exchange, certain commodities (e.g. precious metals, base metals and other raw materials) or rights derived therefrom (warrants, options, futures) can be traded. The exchange brings supply and demand together in the market - mediated by brokers (during defined trading hours) - and balances them out by (officially) fixing prices (quotes). The determination of the prices of the traded objects is continuously based on supply and demand.
