Börsenlexikon: STOXX

STOXX AG is an index issuer domiciled in Zurich. It is a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse AG and SIX Group AG and was founded in February 1998. The first two indices at that time were the EURO STOXX 50 and the STOXX Europe 50. Today, the indices of the STOXX family cover all world markets. On the one hand, such indices serve as a benchmark for actively managed securities funds and, on the other, form the basis for financial instruments such as index certificates or index funds.
