Börsenlexikon: Discomfort

The term discount is used in two ways: For example, discount stands for the price reduction on the nominal value of a security, expressed as a percentage or CHF (or other currencies). In the case of options or warrants, the discount indicates by what percentage the purchase (call) or sale (put) of the underlying security through the exercise of the option is cheaper than the direct purchase/sale of the underlying security. However, a discount for options is very rare.
