The German share index DAX is a performance index adjusted for dividend payments and subscription rights. It includes the 30 German shares with the highest turnover. This represents more than 60% of the share capital of listed domestic companies. In relation to the total turnover on the German stock exchanges, more than 75% of the turnover is accounted for by the 30 shares included in the DAX. It is recalculated and published on a permanent basis. The basis of the DAX was fixed at 1,000 points on 30 December 1987. In addition to the DAX, other indices are published by Deutsche Börse.
