Graphical representation of prices and turnover of listed securities in a chart. The time parameters can be determined by the user. In addition to charts for individual securities, there are charts for stock market indices, precious metals, foreign exchange, futures and other exchange-traded commodities such as raw materials. Daily and weekly charts are common. Charts on a monthly and annual basis provide longer-term overviews, while minute charts are exclusively important for short-term trading and technically oriented market participants. Charts are the basis of technical securities analysis.
